Setup your Noteu
Guide to setting up your Noteu Model A
Step 1 - Unboxing your Noteu
If you've got this far it means you have a Noteu! You should receive a Noteu, USB cable and a bluetooth dongle.
Step 2 - Powering your Noteu
If you recived a Noteu with a Lithium battery it should be around half full so will need to be charged. You can do this by plugging in the USB cable provided and connecting it to a USB plug or your computer. Charging times are around one hour and two hours respectively and lasts longer then 10 hours. If you didn't select a Lithium battery then you can power Noteu via the USB cable.
Step 3 - Bringing your Noteu to Life
To bring Noteu to life push the power switch to the on position around the the back of the device. Your Noteu should come alive and tell you its ready to connect.
Step 4 - Creating a Noteu Account
If you havn't already you need to register for a Noteu account via the link below. You can use this account to access Noteu's Web App which can be accessed via Noteu's website and is where you can setup all your alerts and updates. You can access this anywhere at anytime.
Step 5 - Downloading Noteu's Desktop App
Noteu's desktop app is used on your computer to connect Noteu to the internet where it can check for alerts and work its magic. Please bare in mind in order to run Noteu's app you do need to have Java installed. Click the download button below where you will be redirected to dropbox for our latest version.

Step 6 - Creating a Desktop Shortcut
Once you have successfully downloaded Noteu go to your downloads folder and create a shortcut for Noteu to your desktop. Within Windows you can do this by right clicking on the app, then selecting sent too and then finally clicking Desktop as shown below.
Step 7 - Running your App
Once you have a shortcut created on your desktop double click on the app to launch.
Step 8 - Signing In
Your app should launch with a sign in menu where you can enter your email and password you used to create your Noteu account.
Step 9 - Connecting your Noteu via Bluetooth
In whatever operting system you are working in you need to connect Noteu as a standard serial port over Bluetooth. This is default in most cases and you shouldn't need to worry about this and should just connect as a regualr bluetooth device. Windows, Mac OS and Linux all have bluetooth support however we've noticed Windows is very poor at keeping a sustainable connection with Noteu and problems are inevitable. This is why we have created a guide below to overcome this problem and use Toshiba's Bluetooth Application.

Step 10 - Connecting your Noteu
Once you have signed in a connect menu should appear where you can choose the port Noteu is connected too. This should be given to you when you connect to your Noteu via Bluetooth. Once you have choosen a port hit continue where you will be taken to the next step. If you get any errors while trying to connect this is becuase a connection can't be made with Noteu through Bluetooth.
Step 11 - That's it!
Noteu should now be ready and your computers time should now sync with Noteu's. You can now go to Noteu's web app where you can setup all your alerts by granting Noteu permission from all your favourite online networks. If you ever close Noteu's Desktop App you can just reopen it where it should rememeber you and take you striaght to the connect menu.
Step 12 - Changing Settings
By clicking the gear icon within Home the Settings menu will appear where you can enable and disable certian features as well as sending messages to Noteu.
Step 13 - Become a Developer! If you want too
Noteu believes in building a community and has a rich set of development tools. Including Web Push API's, Java API's and Serial API's. Our Push API allows you to send messages to Noteu anywhere in the world from a simple web request. Our Java API allows you to send messages and interface with Noteu using Java. Our serial API allows you to inteface with Noteu in any programming language with serial capabilities.
